"Park Guideline for Off Highway Vehicles": A guide to plan, develop, construct, manage, operate, and maintain riding areas specifically for off highway vehicles. This guide was produced with RTP funds and was a cooperative effort between the Federal Highway Administration and the National off Highway Vehicle Conservation Council. The cost is $31.50 for NRPA members and $45.00 for non-members.

Tim has written some of the most comprehensive guides to trails in Arkansas. You can pick up a copy of the guides at your local bookstore in Arkansas or over the internet at Hike Arkansas.

"Acquiring Rail Corridors: A How to Manual" : Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. Edited by Jeff Allen and Tom Iurino, this book delivers a step-by-step explanation of how to successfully acquire a rail corridor. Obtain a copy at Rails to Trails Conservancy .

"Building Better Trails: Designing, Constructing and Maintaining Outstanding Trails" : Published by the International Mountain Bicycling Association. The title pretty much says it all with this one. Though its main focus is mountain bike trails, IMBA also advocates sustainable trail design for all user groups so the concepts described in this publication can easily apply to other trail types. "So You Want To Build A Trail: A Guide to Developing Urban Trails": Arkansas State Parks and Tourism. This guide focuses on providing information for anyone interested in developing some type of local recreation trail.
